Ever have the excitement of a vacation and can’t go to bed because you’re thinking of all fun things you have planned for your trip? Now imagine that it’s with your loved one and you’re saying “I DO” in the most breathtaking coastline. Imagine this feeling but, times 3000 when planning your elopement to the Oregon coast.
Planning a trip with just the two of you, or with a small number of others, is always easier right? You get together or send each other Reels and TikTok’s of things to do, places to see and all the while your excitement continues to build with every step you take into planning. When you elope- you are planning the same exact way but now you are getting married!
Eloping along the Oregon coast offers a magical experience that leaves you and partner with intimate memory of unforgettable landscapes. The Oregon Coast may just be the perfect destination, with craggy beaches, cliffs going for miles, hikes through lush forests, and charming towns stretching for the 363 miles along the Pacific coastline. Thoughts fade away along this wind-swept shoreline, home to soaring sand dunes, pristine state parks and bustling harbors.
Spend your wedding day stress-free from all the planning and go out and explore the natural landscapes. The beauty of it is you can then plan your honeymoon and stay longer, with miles of beaches, little towns close to the coastlines, sight-seeing adventures, and coastal ferry’s makes it a destination waiting to happen all while spending almost half of what you would spend on a traditional wedding. Are you feeling better about Eloping now? If so, GREAT! Now go plan your Elopement.
Flying in? Best airport would be Portland. Then from there you’ll drive about 2 hours to arrive at certain destinations. The trip from Portland to the Oregon Coast can take up to two hours on average, so plan accordingly…take it from us! In Oregon, there’s only a few highways that take you to the coastline and some are one lane roads, have to be careful and safe driving as these roads are windy and home to forest animals. Another note: WATCH THE SPEED, it’s heavily enforced with speed traps. Last thing you want is an extra expense that could’ve been avoided.
The best part of Eloping here is that you don’t have to go great distances to get incredible shots! Many of the state parks are within a few miles and super easy to get to.
Cannon Beach- This beach offers so much! A small coastal city in Northwest Oregon gives you ample amount of beach and depending on time of day can give you more access to journeying to Haystack Rock.
Ecola State Park- Dreaming of being Twilight? No joke, this park has all the feels! Experience the most awe-inspiring views from Ecola Point. This park has so many things to offer, from coastline, cliffs, and forest. If you’re lucky you can also enjoy the Elk that roam there!
A secret location- This spot is a showstopper! Spoiler warning: if you’re one to be afraid of heights, it can be a little nerve wracking but, 1000% worth it. The location is a dream, stroll along a path and listen to the waves crash against the cliffs as you lookout to the horizon.
As you plan, you want to stay close to the major locations. Seaside, Astoria, Cannon Beach are few places to look into. These are close to the coast and don’t add much drive time your locations.
-Explore Haystack Rock
